Gayatri is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and is a member of the Psychologist’s Association of Alberta. She has a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Applied Psychology and a Master of Arts in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from University of Delhi, India. Gayatri believes in continuous growth and learning and engages in ongoing professional development and training. Gayatri has over 22 years of experience providing counseling in various settings. She enjoys working with culturally diverse populations including, but not limited to, children, teens, adults, couples, elderly, families, and blended families. Gayatri believes that humans are emotional, relational, and social beings, capable of initiating and adapting to change. She fosters a safe, respectful, comfortable, culturally sensitive, non judgemental and accepting space for her clients. In her therapeutic work, Gayatri utilizes a strengths-based, client centered approach and tailors the therapy to best meet the needs and goals of each individual with whom she works. Gayatri’s therapeutic work draws from Hypnotherapy, Cognitive-behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), Mindfulness Practices, Trauma Informed Care and Relaxation Techniques. Gayatri is currently working towards Gottman certification as a couple’s therapist. Her work with couples is guided by Gottman method which is a well researched and evidence-based couples’ therapy. She provides services in English, Hindi, and Punjabi. In order to support and meet the needs of her clients, Gayatri offers various daytime, evening, and weekend appointments. Liv is a Registered Provisional Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists providing primarily Psychoeducational Assessments and working under the supervision of Charles Coleman and Angeline Fitch, PhD. Liv obtained their Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Psychology at the University of Calgary and their Master of Counselling from the City University of Seattle. Liv has a 15-year history volunteering and working in the mental health field, including practicum placements at the Third Academy and the City University of Seattle Calgary Clinic.

Liv’s experience has primarily focused on supporting individuals living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), various learning disabilities, cognitive impairments, and other developmental delays. They volunteered with the Learning Disabilities Association of Ontario and worked as a Community Disability Practitioner. As a guardian to someone with ASD, Liv brings a wealth of personal experience into their work and understands the experiences of their clients on a deeper level. Liv sees the unique intrinsic value of every client they meet and aims to highlight each client’s abilities and accomplishments to encourage them to become their own inspirations.

Liv has a passion for Psychoeducational Assessment, discovering client’s unique strengths and challenges, giving clients a deeper understanding of themselves, and providing recommendations to support clients in accessing their full potential. Samuel is a Registered Provisional Psychologist and Canadian Certified Counsellor who works to build a strong connection with his clients, enabling them to feel heard and understood. Samuel practices under the supervision of Charles Coleman and is a Doctor of Psychology Student who completed his Master of Counselling from the City University of Seattle. He completed his internship at the Calgary Counselling Center and has experience working with people with diverse presenting concerns from his other work experiences. Prior to a career in Counselling, Samuel worked in human resources and obtained a Master’s in Managerial Psychology from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. Samuel is passionate about understanding how systems and trauma impact and interact with people’s mental health. From a systemic lens, Samuel works to uncover patterns fuelling the problem and the strengths inherent in the client’s story and to help them move towards positive shifts. Suzanne is a Registered Psychologist and a Canadian Certified Counsellor. She graduated from City University of Seattle with her Master of Counselling in Counselling Psychology before acquiring advanced level training at the Vancouver School for Narrative Therapy. She is currently working toward registration as a Certified Gottman Couple’s Therapist. She is a member of the College of Alberta Psychologists. Suzanne practices from a Narrative approach, and draws from Family Systems, Solution-Focused, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing approaches in her therapeutic work. As an advocate for social justice, Suzanne uses her systemic training to understand individual contexts including how social norms, language, and multiple factors influence the development of people’s lives. She engages in a relational approach to understanding the affiliation between people and the problems from which they seek extrication. She aims to model authenticity, empathy, hope, and embrace humour in relationships with clients to provide therapeutic interventions that focus on empowering clients to embrace their strengths and initiate change both within themselves and within their systems. BARBARA IS NOT TAKING ANY NEW CLIENTS

Barbara is a Registered Provisional Psychologist, a Canadian Certified Counsellor, a member of the Canadian Counseling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta (PAA), working under the supervision of Charles Coleman. Barbara completed her bachelor’s degree in psychology at the Federal University of Reconcavo of Bahia in Brazil and obtained her master’s degree in counselling through the City University of Seattle. Her professional background in Brazil includes working with children and youth in at-risk situations, college students at the university student counselling services and seniors in a psychiatric hospital with various cognitive decline diagnosis. She completed various internships as well as volunteering at the Support Group for Children. 

In Canada, Barbara has worked with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and comorbidities, including anxiety, depression, and ADHD. Her practicum was completed at Rocky Mountain Psychological Services and New Heights school. In addition to extensive work with children in these settings, Barbara provided executive skills counselling to adults and facilitated anxiety groups for teens with ASD. 

Barbara is passionate about supporting individuals and has experienced first-hand the positive impact that the appropriate intervention can have in one’s efforts to reach their full potential. Barbara works from a strength-based approach, supporting clients through counselling, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy (NT), Synergetic Play Therapy (SPT), and Attachment theories. Josh is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and a member of the Psychologists’ Association of Alberta. He completed his Master of Education in Counselling Psychology at the University of Lethbridge. Josh’s clinical background includes working with addictions, relationships, and trauma/PTSD. He also has a passion for working with people who have experienced race-based traumatic stress.

In addition to counselling, Josh coordinates workshops at Journey and provides consultation for all looking to attend. He enjoys building strong relationships with people and takes great pride in the work that he does with the individuals and couples that he sees.

While Josh approaches therapy primarily through a Cognitive Behavioural framework, the expansion of his clinical work has led him to draw from other modalities such as EMDR, Solution-Focused, and Narrative approaches. Josh’s growing expertise in trauma and PTSD has led to further training such as his post graduate certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies.

Charles Coleman is the Director of Journey Counselling Services.

A Registered Psychologist and Calgary marital therapist who is an empathic and dynamic listener, passionate about helping people live out their full potential and overcome hurdles that get in their way. He is an avid learner who started his education with a BSc. in Zoology before deciding to move into Psychology. He acquired a diploma in PsychoEducation Guidance and Counselling from the University of Calgary and a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology from City University, Bellevue, Washington. He has further training in couples therapy and is in the process of becoming a Gottman Certified Therapist (completed Level III).

He is currently registered with the College of Alberta Psychologists with whom he is an approved supervisor. He enjoys mentoring and developing the next generation of psychologists. He holds clinical membership with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and is enrolled in a PhD program.

Charles has lived and traveled internationally spending over 20 years in various cultures and speaking three languages. He enjoys competitive team sports, reading ‘real life’ stories and spending quality time with friends and family around food. He is now learning Spanish ~ Ola!

Clint is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists, currently under the supervision of Charles Coleman. He completed his undergraduate degree in psychology at Mount Royal University, and obtained his Masters of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. He completed his counselling residency at the Calgary Counselling Centre, where he worked extensively in the agency’s partnership with the province of Alberta’s family violence program. Clint has also worked as a supervisor at the Calgary Distress Centre supporting crisis line volunteers, and has previously served as a Victim Services Advocate with the RCMP.

Clint’s approach to counselling is trauma-informed and relationship-driven. He has experience working with individuals, couples, families, and groups, and has had success helping clients work through a variety of concerns including anxiety and depression, anger management, addictions, grief and loss, relationship concerns, motivation and self-esteem, and more.

Clint draws inspiration from a variety of disciplines including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy, among others. He has a heart for working with those who are feeling discouraged by their current situation, and strives to give every client he works with a genuine sense of hope that meaningful change is possible!
